How to keep your car cool during the June (or even July or August) heatwave!

By Zunsport - 3rd May, 2024

If national weather forecasters are anything to go by, a heatwave may be on the way across most of the UK. We never really know how reliable weather reports are, but just in case... it looks like it's time to consider how to keep your car cool during the hot weather.

Park in shaded areas

It goes without saying that parking in shaded areas is one of the best ways to keep your car cool in the summer. Park out of direct sunlight, either in the shade of a building or in a tree-lined street, and your car won't bear the brunt of the sun's rays.

Use a reflective shade on your windscreen

A reflective shade can be left over your windscreen to deflect light from the sun away from your car, thus effectively keeping the interior of your car cool. This will help hugely if you've got dark interior fabric and you're tired of burning your legs and hands on the seats and steering wheel when you get into the car on a hot day.

Leave car windows open

Obviously, this is one to be careful with. If you're around - either because your car is parked at home or you're parked somewhere secluded within sight of where you'll be - leaving your car windows open is one way to keep your car interior cool if you're expecting to be going for a drive soon.

Installing a custom grille

Without a doubt, the surest long-term way to keep your car cool during the summer months is to install a custom Zunsport car grille. A car grille installed near your car's engine will protect your car's intercoolers, which are responsible for keeping your air conditioning working properly. A top-quality grille will also improve ventilation near your engine.

Installing a good quality car grille can help you make long-term savings, especially if you use your car a lot in the summer months. Enhanced air flow, which keeps the car cool and protects the engine from road debris, means you'll spend less money repairing and replacing radiators and intercoolers - meaning more money for cool car customisations.
